Objectives

  • To equip students with advanced research skills necessary for conducting original, rigorous, and innovative research in the field of library and information science. This includes proficiency in research design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination.
  • To develop an in-depth understanding of theoretical frameworks, methodological approaches, and emerging trends in library and information science, enabling them to critically evaluate existing knowledge, identify gaps, and contribute new insights to the field.
  • To encourage students to engage in interdisciplinary exploration, drawing upon insights and methodologies from related disciplines such as computer science, information technology, sociology, psychology, education, and management to enrich their research and scholarship.
  • To conduct original research that contributes new knowledge, theories, methodologies, or applications to the field of library and information science.
